1. When they get their monthly bill, and;
2. If their power goes out.
As important as electricity is to our daily lives, it’s time to think differently about energy. The value and benefits that electric power provides can best be understood when we know where electricity comes from, how it’s used and what investments are made each and every day on behalf of our customers.
The way New Mexico generates and uses electricity is rapidly changing.
The people of PNM are proud to be a force for positive change and our initiatives include plans to:
- Reduce carbon emissions by retiring two coal-burning production units at San Juan Generating Station, which will help New Mexico meet new federal regulations;
- Have more than one million solar panels in solar arrays operating by the end of 2015, which will produce 107 megawatts at a cost of nearly $269 million; and
- Increase our reliance on renewable energy resources, such as wind, solar and geothermal, to at least 20 percent of our total energy sales over the next five years.
Power for Progress is all in a day’s work for PNM.
